| Hi Folks, attached are a few pics. of my Flatiron. It is a 1987 F5 I purchased from a local collector oddly enough his name is Jim Smith. How cool is that? The instrument is in mint condition and looks and sounds like the one Brad Laird plays on youtube. It has a serial number and was made in Bozeman Montana USA, signed by Dennis A.Balin. I bought the Flatiron in May of this year. I had no Idea I was buying a piece of American mandolin history. I just liked the way it sounded, it is a beauty to hold and was in perfect condition. I put a new set of strings on it and it is even better. I am in New Brunswick, Canada. We are right next to the great state of Maine, which I love to visit. I am also a watercolor painter. |
| This fine Flatiron comes to us compliments of Norma Blois. Thanks so much, Norma! What a fine Mando and fine pictures to share with us.! We do agree that it is a BEAUTY! Here's a quote I think you may like. I know I sure do! It takes a long time to become young. Picasso |
